Crew (2) Advanced Techniques Having completed part 1 of your comp crew this takes you through to completion, having the theory is great but putting it into practice is this courses objective. This is your chance to become part of a fine tuned team, increase your hands on time, with lots of sailing both by day and NIGHT, you make informed decisions based on skill and not guess work. Your opportunity to put your sailing skills to the test..... "A maximum of 3 to 4 students gives you, sail trim and shape, coming up to a mooring under sail and power, Tides and tidal flow, night sailing and passage making. Its 2 full days live aboard sailing with lots of fun and challenge along the way. Syllabus Includes: Builds on previous skills learnt with High Hands on element. Sail trimming for speed and efficiency, gybing . Sail care and boat maintenance considerations. Passage sailing and preparing for watch keeping, inculding Anchoring (practical exercise). Sailing as a crew with emphasis on Teamwork. Tides - currents and tidal flow. Docking considerations. Picking up a Mooring under sail and power. Course notes are supplied, and Log books are available for endorsement. Upon completion of this course we offer our help in recommending your next step to take. We can assist with club location and membership, get you listed as crew, help with boat purchase advice, or put you in contact with people within the sailing fraternity.
